The role will offer the opportunity to work across a number of Highways contracts in the North East, including the Regional Delivery Partnership and Testo’s/Downhill Lane .
The Regional Delivery Partnership is a framework contract with Highways England for the development, design and construction of capital road projects that form part of the Regional Investment Programme during Road Period 1 (2015 to 2020) and Road Period 2 (2020 to 2025).
The first scheme, A1 Scotswood to North Brunton scheme has started work on site in March 2020, and will be complete in the summer of 2022. The scheme proposes to provide (all within the existing highway boundary) On-line widening to the existing 3 narrower lanes between J74 and 840m north of J78. With provision of 3 full-width lanes between a point 840m north of J78 and J79.
Lane gain / drops between J74 and J77 and at J79. With speed limits been reduced from 70mph to 60mph between junctions 74 and 78. Junction 78 to 79 will remain at 70mph.
Subsequent RDP schemes are the A1 Birtley to Coalhouse, March 2021- March 2024, and A1 in Northumberland also March 2021 – 2024.
Testos roundabout is located on the A19 and A184 between Sunderland and Newcastle, about 4km south of the Tyne Tunnels. The roundabout is the last major ‘at-grade’ junction on the A19 trunk road. The improvement scheme will provide a fully grade-separated arrangement, with a new flyover taking A19 through traffic over the roundabout, reducing congestion and improving the flow of traffic. The scheme started at the beginning of 2019 and is due for completion Easter 2021.

Reporting to a Senior Planner will be accountable for the provision of expertise and systems for the planning, scheduling and project controls on the project using Primavera P6 planning software.
The role will be site based, initially at the Testos site (or Jacobs office in Stockton) but also other sites in the North East.
