    Costain have been contracted for the design and build of a facility near Reading.  The scope of works for this project will include Programme Management, Construction, Building Services (M&E), Instrumentation and Control Systems and various external works.

     

    Potential candidates for this role must be able to obtain and retain Security Clearance to be able to be considered.

    What will I be doing?

    This is an exciting site based role to provide Project management services,  on behalf of Costain, for Projects within the project portfolio working as a Consultant.

     

    The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for:

    • Ensuring the project is delivered safely, within Budget, on programme and to the required Quality
    • Managing a dedicated professional team integrated with the Clients team
    • Ownership of the packages and disciplines
    • Delivering to budget and production targets ,programme and specification
    • Owning the relationship and maintain a liaison with the client and the supply chain
    • Supporting the manager and the staff under your control
    • Maintaining a good working relationship with the Client and associated personnel
    • Being conversant with all drawings, specifications and relevant information for works package

     

    About you

    You will have the following skills and experience:

    • An ability to work in a partnering environment with the client
    • Degree level/HNC/HND qualification in a M&E or Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering
    • Minimum 5 years work experience within a similar role with a main contractor in built environment
    • Awareness of NEC Form of Contract and Subcontract.
    • Understanding of Engineering Principles
    • Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices
    • Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, Document control system)
    • Relevant CSCS Card

    Due to the nature of the project, the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance of at least SC level is mandatory from the outset. In order to pass the clearance you must have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years. DV will be required soonest after commencement.
