Technology Programme Lead

We are currently recruiting for a Technology Programme Lead within our Business Systems Group (BSG) team based in Maidenhead. BSG delivers the Digital Core IT solutions that support corporate departments, contracts and clients.

You will be responsible for driving and managing a set of assigned technology projects and programmes to deliver the Digital Core solutions that underpin contracts and corporate departments. You will lead complex projects to deliver against high standards of predictability, performance and service. BSG project teams apply ITIL and Agile methods and Oracle, Microsoft or 3^rd party platforms to rapidly deliver value. Technology projects will increasingly transform how Costain operates and you will be comfortable working with senior stakeholders and managing the complexity of transformation and people change. You will also play a leadership role within BSG, bringing innovation to our delivery to the business.

• You will manage assigned projects and programmes to deliver outcomes and value in a complex and fast-changing business environment while meeting cost, time and quality demands
• You will apply your experience and Costain Way tools to manage risk, change, quality and budget for projects
• You will input into the BSG standards and PMO reporting to provide cross-portfolio visibility of project status and resource management
• You will lead and motivate project teams of mixed skillsets – including business participants - often working remotely from one another
• Using exceptional communication skills, you will support and influence business stakeholders to steer the project and wider transformation effort to achieve recognised outcomes and success
• You will contribute to the BSG team to support continuous improvements of methods, tools and techniques, and mentor and manage more junior members of the team.

• At least 10 years' experience of IT project and programme management within medium to large scale organisations
• Demonstrable expertise in applying at least one IT project management methodology, either traditional (e.g. PRINCE2, APM) or an Agile method
• Effective communication and strong stakeholder management skills
• Problem solver who is comfortable working across business and technology stakeholders and customer-focused in driving the delivery of outcomes
• Desirable: certified in a recognised relevant project management methodology (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, SCRUM)
• Desirable: experience of Agile delivery as a SCRUM Master or in a similar role
