Senior Quality Engineer

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the specific QA/QC/LTR requirements are identified, implemented and maintained concurrent with the project life cycle. In addition, the Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for assisting in all day-to-day aspects of the Quality resourcing within specific streams on behalf of a Project with regard to budget, resource availability and allocation of resources to specific work packages.

Specific Accountabilities:

• Lead the establishment and ongoing development of project quality management programmes, ensuring that project learning is captured within the management system and processes.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of project off-site and site QA/QC LTR strategy (what, how, who, when and where) in accordance with the relevant standards and specifications.
• Contribute to the development of the Project audit management programme, and lead project internal audits and external audits of vendors and contractors.
• Report Supply Chain audit performance, communicating key audit findings and trends
• Liaise with customer and the Costain QA/QC management in order to identify and co-ordinate the QA/QC support necessary to meet quality audit and certification requirements / expectations of a project
• Establish QA/QC approval networks
• Ensure that all project off-site and site LTRs are generated and verified in accordance with relevant technical specifications and in line with relevant project specific procedures
• Ensure that any punch lists (where relevant) are appropriately completed and verified in line with procedure
• Lead investigation of product quality or process failures and make recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
• Deliver QA/QC requirements/expectations to off-site contractors, reinforce client and Costain expectations during quality meetings and briefings
• Carry out product or works inspection where approved as SQEP  
• Support contractors in development of their QA/QC management systems, offering best practice from other areas
• Measure and evaluate site and off-site contractor performance by scoring them against established status of Quality KPIs
• Ensure that QA/QC Key Performance Indicators are generated monthly

You will have a passion for quality, with experience of managing Quality on in the Nuclear projects

CQI member to charter level preferred.
