    The Sales and Marketing Director will lead the growth and development function across the transportation division, providing expertise and resources to shape Costain’s position in the transportation market and lead business development, marketing and work-winning in the division. The Sales and Marketing Director will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team in the Transportation Division and will work with sector directors and key account directors across the three sectors together with cross-sector campaign teams to establish a work-winning culture which has the necessary skills, capabilities and energy to be a winning team. The Sales and Marketing Director reports to the MD Transportation.

     

    What will I be doing?

    • Leadership and management of critical tenders and work-winning propositions in the transportation division, including the development of winning strategies and proposals and the management of the bidding process

    • Leadership and management of the resources required to produce winning tenders including the integration of specialist bid-writers and subject matter experts in the transportation division
    •  
    • Brand management and marketing of the transportation proposition in Costain, building and protecting the reputation and integrity of the brand

    • Marketing communications, aligning the external communication channels used in transportation with those of the Group and coordinating marketing and thought-leadership campaigns

    • Leadership and management of market research and intelligence activities in the transportation sector to ensure timely, relevant information to support business development and work-winning activities

    • Business development activities relating to the identification, analysis, planning and development of new areas of business with existing and prospective clients in the transportation industry, including pursuit planning and implementation and the identification and management of strategic campaigns

    About you

    • Degree in business or marketing related discipline, member of relevant professional body

    • Proven ability to produce credible and deliverable marketing and business development strategies

    • Senior level experience in leading winning tenders and business propositions and in marketing communications

    • Proven ability in business management and team leadership

    • Excellent and articulate communicator (verbally and written) with good working knowledge of the technical terminology and language appropriate to the infrastructure sector
