    Reporting to the Head of Planning, the Senior Planner will be accountable for the provision of expertise for the planning and scheduling of tenders to support various business sectors and support the business delivery strategy. This will include hands-on planning and co-ordination of resources as required in various office locations.

     

    What will I be doing?

    • Managing the planning, programming and progress control as an integral part of the tender and project teams, responsible for all aspects of planning, programming and progress monitoring, including information flow, procurement, and site works
    • Ensuring the Planning Governance procedures are adhered to and co-ordinate gateway reviews
    • Some experience of managing a planning team and working with consultants and designers
    • Liaising where necessary with all stakeholders including the customer, designers, subcontractors, suppliers and local authorities and other stakeholders on all matters relating to planning and programming
    • Ensuring the production of fully integrated tender / project programmes for the project in the format required by the customer and project team that includes design, procurement, consents, construction and commissioning
    • Ensuring the appraisal and co-ordination of all subcontractors’ programmes and feedback to them on changing main programme information
    • Challenging durations and seeing efficiencies and schedule improvements.
    • Preparing and presenting reports on programme and progress of all aspects of the tender / project
    • Work with estimators and reconcile resource requirements
    • Working alongside the Project Controls Manager to ensure that progress control is fully integrated into the project controls
    • Assisting in the management of change and evaluation with regard to the impact on programmes and progress
    • Maintaining and communicating the Programme to all members of the team, in sufficient level of detail required by them to undertake their works
    • Co-ordinating the production of programmes for approval by the customer
    • Producing construction sub-programmes as required
    • Liaising with the Project Manager and Construction Manager to ensure that the most effective programme strategy is followed at all times
    • Producing Information Required schedules for the Designers based on the Master Programme and information supplied by the Construction Manager and team
    • Production of Early Warnings and ‘what-if’ scenarios as they arise, particularly in relation to programme issues
    • Working collaboratively and openly with all stakeholders in the production and reporting of the programme and maintaining a good working relationship with them
    • Monitoring, controlling and reporting on Key Performance Indicators relating to Key Milestones

     

    About you
