Costain’s Systems Approach implements systems thinking & systems engineering principles, practices and tools to discover, design, develop and deploy resilient systems. To deliver the transformational changes for our clients and grow the capability we are recruiting a Chief Systems Engineer.
The Chief System Engineer will build positive and productive working relationships with customers for business growth. They will be responsible for supporting existing opportunity pursuits; identifying future business opportunities and managing relationships with key clients, existing or not; identify opportunities for proactive growth in line with strategy; Support or lead development of material needed to communicate Costain’s systems engineering services and value proposition; produce tender proposals and undertake and deliver project work.
They will be expected to open access to new business contacts, support development of the Systems Approach capability strategy, provide insight to enable alignment of Costain’s systems approach service offering to the opportunities within the market; create new revenue streams for Costain’s systems engineering approach.
As a Chief Systems Engineer they will not only be educating customers on the benefits of Costain’s Systems Approach but also manage multiple projects, breaking down barriers for the team and both planning at a higher level oversee daily activities of delivery team and provide direction and guidance as needed and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed. Also defining project needs and feeding these into the System Engineering teams which will enable resource to be appropriately allocated.
Proven communication skills including:
Written – reports, papers etc.
Verbal – able to negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders (such as customers, engineering and management);
IT literate with the ability to use and integrate Microsoft Office packages – word, excel, etc.
