    The HS2 Main Civils Contracts include both Lots S1 (Euston Tunnels & Approaches) and S2 (Northolt Tunnels). The first 16 months of the project will involve detailed design, pricing and building up target cost, with work on site likely to start in early 2020.

    Scope of works includes twin-bored tunnels (TBM driven), SCL tunnels/adits, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, utilities diversions, earthworks and the construction of site compounds.

    Security Vetting: HS2 requires SCS to undertake security vetting on all staff to the UK Government Baseline Personal Security Standard. All successful candidates will be subject to this vetting procedure as part of the on-boarding process.

    What will I be doing?

    We currently have a vacancy for a BIM Technician on our HS2 Main Works Contract based in Holborn, Central London

     

    Skills set: BIM/Bentley Microstation/AECOsim

    Job location: Holborn/Euston/Old Oak Common/West Ruislip

    Accessible by public transport?  yes

    Working hours: Weekdays

    Contract: Permanent

     

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Liaising with methods engineering team to produce drawings, 3D models and 4D construction sequencing
    • Liaising with the temporary works team to integrate temporary works
    • Liaising with subcontractors to source and incorporate supply chain models
    • Undertaking clash detection on the model
    • Creating logistics models for optimisation of site layouts and haulage routes
    • Adding data attributes to the model where appropriate
    • Able to support the team and training if required, depending on software skills

     

     

    About you

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

    • Have a detailed understanding of AutoCAD 3D and / or Bentley AECOsim tool
    • Industry-standard 3D CAD, experience of 4D/5D, Asset  Management requirements & Data Management
    • Ability to interpret 2D drawings and use industry-standard software to generate component-level 3D models
    • Familiarity with 4D location-based modelling packages
    • Ability to setup and run clash detection, defining tolerances and checking results
    • Aware of the ‘information’ requirements of BIM
    • Innovative thinking – seeks opportunities to add value through use of technology and data
