Costain helps to improve people’s lives by deploying technology-based engineering solutions to meet urgent national needs across the UK’s energy, water and transportation infrastructures.
Costain are delivering the works associated with Davenport accepting the Astute Class Submarine into their Dry Docks. Maintaining a consistent and coherent set of requirements and assurance documentation is particularly challenging to this multi-disciplinary project where a large number of discrete work packages are working in tandem towards a set of common performance and functional requirements.
To deliver the scope of work we are implementing a Systems Engineering approach. The System Engineering Team is responsible for developing and managing robust requirements, leading technical assurance, planning Validation, Verification and Systems Integration activities and providing configuration control for the integration and assurance frameworks of the projects.
This role will be responsible for ensuring that a complete and consistent set of requirements for dry docks and associated systems are specified and that these requirements are fully satisfied in the delivered systems. The successful candidate in the delivery of their responsibilities will enable the project to demonstrate that products developed provide the specified functionality and that they will ultimately be able to demonstrate through assurance evidence to the customer that the minimal viable products have been achieved.
The successful candidate will report to the Requirements Engineering Manager and will have the following day to day duties:
