    The eight₂O Alliance is a grouping of industry leaders working in collaboration to design and deliver essential improvements to Thames Water’s ageing infrastructure. The multi - £billion contract will be delivered by the 8-partner Alliance which includes two design and build Joint Ventures. Costain’s JV will be predominantly delivering projects in the Thames Valley and Thames South Regions. There is a mix of Waste Water Infrastructure and Non-Infrastructure, and Water Infrastructure and Non-Infrastructure projects across the framework. 

     

    We are looking for a Senior Engineer wanting to manage their own sites.

    The initial scheme is to manage the replacement of a river overbridge and you will be joining a team with a portfolio of works which includes reservoir strengthening, upgrades to water supply sites and installation of river structures.

    What will I be doing?

    • Develop scheme Health, Safety and Environmental Management Plan (HASEMP)
    • To ensure works are constructed defect free
    • Ensure all works are undertaken with due regard to the needs of the local population within the immediate vicinity of the works and the general public as a whole
    • Manage, supervise and mentor the site team as appropriate
    • Ensure only adequately trained and experienced operatives are engaged on site to deliver the scheme
    • Adopt, maintain and promote cost conscious management through efficient use of all resources
    • Ensure realistic scheme programmes are prepared, reviewed and updated
    • Ensure method statements and risk assessments are prepared, reviewed, briefed and updated
    • Deliver site inductions and regular tool box talk briefings to all site personnel
    • Ensure all plant and equipment used is fit for purpose, only operated by suitably trained personnel and regularly inspected
    • Ensure all records for measurement and payment purposes are prepared promptly, in appropriate form
    • Keep line management appraised of potential problems and opportunities
    • Ensure all “as constructed” records are provided to the CDMC for inclusion within the Health and Safety File in a timely manner following scheme completion

    About you

    • Degree or HND in Civil Engineering
    • Recognised Civil Engineering/Site Management Qualifications
    • Health, Safety and Environmental Management (IOSH or Construction Managers Safety Certificate
    • Innovative
    • Valid Driving Licence
    • CSCS Site Manager Card
    • First Aid at Work
    • Understanding of Engineering Principles
    • Experienced Temporary Works Coordinator(CITB)
