    The Aone+ is a joint venture between Costain, CH2M and Colas where they have been entrusted with completing a diverse range of maintenance, incident response, weather management and road engineering duties across over 4300 miles of major road network.  The network include Area 12 Yorkshire and Humberside and Area 4 in Kent which commenced from June 2016 for five years and have a combined estimated value of between £140m and £165 million per year.


    As an NCC steward of a shift team delivering incident response and winter maintenance services via a 24/7 Network Control Centre. Responsible for receipt of incident and winter related communication including accurate logging in to a database. The establishment and maintenance of excellent working relationships with the Traffic Officer Service, the Highways Agency Area team, the police and other agencies involved in incident and winter activities within A-one+ Area’s and surrounding networks. Ensuring A-one+ commercial targets are met.




    What will I be doing?

    • Acting as first point of contact for the Business and being responsible for ensuring that the appropriate course of action is taken for each issue reported.
    • Receive telephone calls from the Highways Agency , police and local authorities relating to incidents on the Network
    • Receiving and dealing with calls from members of the public regarding customer service issues and dealing with complaints, recording all details
    • Prioritising incoming calls/demands & make appropriate decisions in accordance with Traffic Incident Response Plans and the A-one+ Incident Response Matrix.
    • Deploy and manage resources at incidents on the Network ensure additional support is provided
    • Establish, maintain and continually update a database of information relevant to the operation of the Network, including Emergency call out contact details and incident data.
    • Monitor traffic flows via CCTV and deploy resources in response to traffic build up or an incident.
    • Carrying out 'housekeeping' & administrative tasks as required.

    About you

    • Previous experience in a Network Control Centre or Call Centre
    • Excellent written and verbal communication required for the usage of telephone, radio and data terminals
    • Good use of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Ability to manage incident database and data inputting
    • Must be able to work shifts - Shifts will be 12 hours each and follow a pattern of 2 day shifts, 2 night shifts than 4 days off.
    • Must be able to operate radio based telecommunication systems and comply with security requirements
    • Full UK Driving Licence
