    We are looking to add a Civil/Structural Technical Manager to the team based at our office close to Manchester Airport.

    What will I be doing?

    • Lead the discipline team, providing resource to multiple projects, ensuring skillset match project demands
    • Ensure the department budget and utilisation targets are achieved
    • Forecast resource requirements and recruit staff and agency as required
    • Be responsible for performance management of resources
    • Support work winning, tendering and manhour estimate production
    • Interface and work as one of a multi-discipline team providing resources to multiple projects
    • Have in depth knowledge of resource requirements, availability in the local market, potential additional suppliers and discipline specific skill sets in high demand
    • Provide reports, risk registers, forecasts, support ad-hoc opportunities, provide resource across Costain and similar as required
    • Ensure delivery team perform compliant works, adhere to corporate process
    • Identify and develop staff in conjunction with the Technical Authority teams

    About you

    • Degree qualified
    • Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer
    • Recent UK experience
    • Understanding of a range of sectors, eg water, highways, rail, power, industrial, nuclear
    • Understanding of whole delivery process from work winning to scheme handover in a variety of sectors
    • Ability to communicate effectively, have a flexible outlook, able to deliver presentations
    • Able to travel mainly across the UK and visit project sites / suppliers, at short notice occasionally
    • Able to prioritise work and meet multiple deadlines
