Reporting to the Head of GIS – New Business the GIS Developer will work across the business (including centrally, sectors and contracts) to provide support to meet the growing demand for Geospatial information, creating applications and integrated solutions using a variety of toolkits.
The candidate will have a background and interest in mapping and data, capturing and processing geospatial data and using it to develop Costain’s GIS-based data-centric solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong programming background and draw upon their skills to identify opportunities to implement solutions based on multiple layers of geospatial data and innovative modelling techniques.
The role will be primarily based in one of our central London contracts and will provide opportunities for the successful candidate to learn new skills (both office- and site-based) and work with different in-house teams from several disciplines to deliver innovative solutions. The role will be split to cover both delivery of core GIS functions and undertake R&D to develop new in-house solutions based on geospatial data as a commercial customer offering.
