    • Provide assurance to Board on the above, following the Costain Technical Risk Management Plan process
    • Positioning yourself as a trusted mentor and expert in MEICA engineering, respected across the business
    • Develop a complementary team relationship with the technical leadership team, which covers all disciplines
    • Promote a culture of a ‘learning organisation’ by collecting and sharing both good and bad practice
    • Assist in providing technical advice related to construction activities and delivery of assets for our clients; assist in work winning activity
    • Building up relationships with site teams and act as facilitator in finding solutions to the technical problems in the construction and delivery of assets to our clients
    • Assisting in finding the causes for failures and the sharing information on the prevention measures to stop the recurrence of similar events across the company
    • Perform formal audits for individual activities as identified and suiting your knowledge base
    • Assist in organisation and presenting on company CPD days; deliver training
    • Assist in recruiting and developing apprentices and graduates
    • Write processes, alerts and relevant communications documents
    • Attend industry, trade and professional organisation events to maintain personal CPD and add to the knowledge base of the company

    About you

    • Ability to work with teams and individuals to inspire them into best practice
    • A disciplined approach, motivating compliance through a risk-based understanding
    • Strong practical experience supplemented by design and theoretical knowledge
    • Professionally qualified engineer, ideally fellowship grade
    • Drivers licence and willingness to travel across UK
