    We are seeking a bright and enthusiastic Electrical Engineer to work for an innovative UK engineering and technology company. The permanent office based job will primarily be within the bespoke technology design and manufacturing facility based south of Bristol. We produce bespoke products to fulfil customer requirements in harsh and hazardous environments, including CCTV, 3G/4G connected sensors and communications equipment. All products produced are subject to accredited external testing for an industrial environment

    The right candidate will be motivated and capable to own the products they design from requirements capture through design to delivery.     What will I be doing?

    • Design of electrical elements for product development
    • Support of electrical elements in existing products
    • Documentation of designs including calculation and drawings for manufacture
    • Documentation of products for production, operation and maintenance activities
    • Provide electronic/electrical design support for systems and mechanical engineers
    • Ownership of electrical elements of a design from requirements assessment through to site installation of completed products
    • You will be expected to travel to customer sites from time to time, both office and installation sites. This is in the UK and typically for short periods.

    About you

    • Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Demonstrable experience of IoT design for wireless sensing, including;
    • Experience with lower power wireless technologies (e.g. BTLE, ZigBee, Z-Wave)
    • Experience with wireless device design, manufacture and deployment
    • Design of ARM based systems
    • Analogue sensor circuit design
    • PCB schematic design (Altium preferred but not essential)
    • Experience of bespoke equipment manufacture to customer requirements
    • Microsoft office capable (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)

    Desirable skills:

    • Accurate, thorough and consistent work
    • Pro-active and assertive
    • PCB layout (Altium preferred)
    • RTOS
    • Component level testing
    • Demonstrable technical support for customer facing duties
