    Eight2O is a ground breaking alliance for Thames Water, consisting of 7 major companies working alongside with our customer. Together we are delivering a £1.7BN portfolio across the Thames network over a 5 year period [with an option to extend this a further 5 years beyond 2020 into AMP 7].

    The Costain, Atkins, Black & Veatch JV (CABV JV) is accountable for delivering a £750m of this portfolio consisting of several Major Projects (including Thames Tideway Interface Project, Basingstoke, and CHP’s) along with other substantial Projects and Programmes split over the Thames region.

    The CABV JV portfolio includes work from concept, business case proposals, value engineering, efficiency and commercial modelling, design and delivery so in essence its undertaking the Sponsor, Client and Delivery roles which is an excellent position to learn and apply for any career experience.

    The Commercial Structure is currently a 85 strong team including the functions of Finance, Commercial, Procurement, and Supply Chain.

    What will I be doing?

    • Lead and develop the efficient and effective management and issue of accurate, timely and compliant notices and correspondence
    • Ensure contractual and commercial risks and opportunities are identified to the Project Director/Manager
    • Maintaining registers of variations, delay, extension times and claims, effective and consistent implementation of the Company's commercial policies and procedures.
    • Assist with preparation of monthly progress valuations and claim for work completed.
    • Liaise with Employers commercial team & client team
    • Produce pre-Contract tender negotiations & reports where necessary
    • Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Budget reports
    • Review value management and advise on Risk management
    • Prepare, review and complete of sub-contract documentation
    • Plan change management and cost control
    • Prepare & agree interim applications for payment
    • Prepare & agree final accounts with sub contractor
    • Manage subcontracts from initial placement of order to final account
    • Monitor and update Procurement Plan, Sub-contract procurement including analysing commercial comparisons
    • Produce requisition and award letters
    • Reconcile weekly plant, material, labour reconciliation against budget
    • Monitor main contract- including assisting with and producing Change Reports, Value Change Report Forms Main Contract, Monitor allocation changes

    About you

    • Previous commercial experience with knowledge and appreciation of relevant sector.
    • Relevant Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
    • RICS/ICE - preferred
