Some of our recent projects include the £400m redevelopment project at London Bridge Station, the HS2 railway line linking London to the East Midlands and the Thames Tideway Tunnel which is an under-construction 25km tunnel which will provide capture, storage and conveyance of almost all the combined raw sewage and rainwater discharges that currently overflow into the river.


Project M provides a facility which will maintain the UK’s continuous at sea nuclear deterrent. Costain have been brought in by the client, AWE Plc, as Construction Manager on the £1.75bn contract which is expected to complete in 2022. Costain took over the role of Principle Contractor in July 2017 and manage and co-ordinate the clients designers, implementation contractors and suppliers to deliver a fully mature delivery programme. Costain have a team of c.130 professionals who are working as an integrated delivery team with the Intelligent customer.

What will I be doing?

You will be working on a programme that involves complex Mechanical and Electrical engineering to Nuclear standards . The Costain team are 100+ and the project continues until December 2022.

About you

  • The minimum academic entry requirement is 112 UCAS Tariff points this is equivalent to:
  • 3 A levels at grade BBC
  • BTEC National Diploma DMM (1x Distinction and 2x Merits)
  • Access to HE Qualification
  • All appropriate and equivalent, UK and international, Level 3 (and above) qualifications will be considered
  • In addition applicants will need to have 4 GCSEs at grades C / 4 or above (or equivalent) including English and Maths

We will track your progress and performance for 3 years and during your apprenticeship you will get:
