    ATC is a JV between Costain, Alstom  and French company called TSO, We have been contracted by Crossrail to undertake the design, construction and commissioning of the Crossrail Systems. At a value of £300m this is one of the largest Crossrail projects awarded.

    What will I be doing?

    You are responsible to your Manager stated above for the execution of your individual job responsibilities. You shall:

    • support your Manager and the staff under your control;
    • maintain a good working relationship with Client and associated personnel;
    • manage and control your section of the work according to agreed programmes and
    • be conversant with all drawings, specifications and related information for these works.
    • To cover your absence from site during holiday periods, you are to handover your duties to a delegate agreed with your Manager.

    Safety

    You are responsible for implementing and maintaining safe systems of work in accordance with Site Health and Safety Management procedures. This includes a regular assessment of new risks and hazards that may not be specifically covered by safety system documentation already in place.

    System Management

    You are responsible for implementing and maintaining the Project Management Plan (PMP) for your section of the works. This shall include the generation of System Records that show compliance with the PMP. This may include auditing and surveillance.

    Authority

    Your authority is that detailed in the current issue of the signature authorisation list.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    About you

    As Building Site Engineer you shall be responsible for the delivery of the building superstructure, building envelope, fit out and finishes

    You will report to the Buildings Section Manager.

    The specific role duties include, but are not limited to, the following: -

     

    1. Ensure that you have a clear understanding of the requirements of the 4 week lookahead programme, have a clear understanding of the critical path of works for your section and an awareness of the key handover dates for your section of works. You will review short term subcontractor programmes, identifying variance from the ATC contract programme and providing a narrative on the reasons for variance.
    2. You will provide reasonable assistance to the Logistics Supervisor communicating subcontractors requirements and assisting in the management of deliveries where required. You will ensure that materials deliveries are recorded and reconciled accurately.
    3. Ensure that accurate contemporaneous records of the works on the site are maintained on a daily basis for your section of works in the agreed template and to an agreed standard. Any events resulting in a delay or change must be notified to the Project Manager and Commercial Staff in a timely manner
    4. Assist in the coordination of the trades as they move through the building, ensuring that works are completed in a logical systematic manner, identifying any clashes or interface issues to the Section Manager.
    5. Assist the Section Manager with the administration of the subcontracts for your packages of works, understanding Subcontractor responsibilities and attendances provided by the Contractor, identifying and recording change/potential change as the works progress.
    6. Assist the Works Manager and their team to deliver the works, liaising with them on safety, programme, quality, and commercial aspects as required. Ensure that any issues are escalated to your line manager and the Project Manager.
    7. Ensure the safety of yourself and others on site, regularly reviewing works to ensure that they are compliant with statutory, company, and project requirements. You will challenge any incorrect behaviours and provide feedback to the workforce directly. You will regularly review your own competency, identifying any limits in training or experience that impede your ability to fulfil your role to your line manager.
    8. Ensure that you are aware of the temporary works requirements within your section of works and that you have an understanding of the details of their installation, including any phasing requirements and potential modes of failure. Undertake regular site inspections of temporary works during installation and use, identifying any issues to the Temporary Works Coordinator and Temporary Works Supervisor. Ensure that all Temporary Works in your section are compliant to industry best practice.
    9. Ensure that works are compliant with the prescribed quality requirements. Assist in the development of Material Certification, Development and Implementation of ITPs, and identification and management of snags and defects. Assist in the collation of the information for the handover file, including As Builts and closing out of all outstanding works and defects.
    10. Undertake continuing professional development within a recognised organisation, being able to display enhanced learning and diversification of skills.
